It has been echoed down through the years that a mind is a terrible thing to waste! I believe it simply implies or states, if you don't use your mind wisely, you will waste it foolishly. If you don't govern your thoughts, your thoughts will govern you! Shock alert! Here's where we are with our young boys and men today. With every violent act that disrupts the status quo of normal life, a young man is temporarily out of his normal mind. The mind has the ability to trap us in a virtual realm that doesn't exist or bring us to an outcome or conclusion that is not of factual design. Dreams are universal human experiences that can be described as a state of consciousness characterized by sensor, cognitive and emotional occurrences.
It is really important that we understand that our minds are forever active. Even when our body is asleep, our minds are still busy processing and replaying the events of the day. Believe it or not, our minds can give us glimpses from our past childhood that may or may not be in the best interest of the moment. The mind is not something that you can just turn on or off at the drop of a dime. It functions consciously and subconsciously at will. Here's just a piece of general information, our greatest persecutions and the lowest points of self-esteem come from the confines of our own minds.
You know, contrary to the beliefs of some, people don't just wake up one morning and decide, "I'm going to lose my mind." Nor do they wake up one morning and become as brilliant as Albert Einstein. The mind has to be trained and brought under submission to discipline and focus. If you can't think or focus on the right things, your mental vision is distorted, i.e., you can't see a logical point of view that someone is attempting to make, rest assured that in your frustrations you will began to speak the wrong things. Once you've spoken these negative things, it's as if the universe heard you and goes out of its way to fulfill your request. At this point, you have no hope for a favorable outcome because you have attracted a negative state of affairs. "So as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." Prov. 23:7.
Whoa! Don't get discouraged, there is an answer, if you're opened to acting on it. Ready, here it is, Philippians 2:5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." What mind? Ephesians 6:12, "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." These are my recommendations for seeds of life!
